GLOBAL HIV/AIDS:
Leadership and Commitment
World AIDS Day, the global day of action and remembrance on HIV/AIDS, takes place every December 1 to increase awareness, education and fighting HIV/AIDS related prejudice and discrimination. World AIDS Day is important in reminding the world that HIV/AIDS persists, and that there are many things still left to be done. By working together, we can make a difference in the global fight against HIV and AIDS.
The Unitarian Universalist Global AIDS Coalition (UUGAC), the Unitarian Universalist Association Office for Advocacy (UUA-Washington Office), and the Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office (UU-UNO) encourage all UUs to get involved in the global fight against HIV/AIDS by providing your congregations and local action groups a resource packet for action and advocacy. This resource packet is designed to educate individuals and congregations, to facilitate global HIV/AIDS focused worship, to inform and encourage information sharing, and to create collaborative action.
This Resource Packet grows out of our shared belief that the world must respond to the HIV/AIDS crisis confronting people most affected or made vulnerable by the disease.
